Update May 2019
Scroll down to read about Carol's life before our 50th reunion.
50 years? Really??
Yes, I have had a good life. I married in 1964 to a wonderful man (Bob) with a 7 year old son, so I got an "instant" family. In 1968 we had a daughter. We lived in South San Jose (Branham & Meridian area) for 36 years and raised our family. As with most people, there were ups and downs - some health issues with Bob being one. I worked for Reed & Graham in the accounting department. Our kids grew up and had their own lives.
In 2000 Bob and I decided that after 30 years with Reed & Graham, it was time for us to "retire" and we moved to Gilbert, AZ. Both our kids were single at the time and were looking for a fresh start, so they moved with us..4 people, 3 households all at the same time!
The first 1½ years here were good, but Bob's health deteriorated and he died in May of 2002. It was quite a blow. I was so grateful to have my kids near.
During the first two years we were here, Reed & Graham asked me to do some consulting and training. One thing lead to another and the short story is I have been working from home in my old position since 2003. You gotta love computers, the internet and FedEx! So really I have not been retired at all. It keeps me busy and I still enjoy my job.
In 2004 I was diagnosed with Stage 3B Breast Cancer and went through a full year of Chemo, Surgery and Radiation. I am happy to say I have been cancer free since March of 2005!
My spare time is spent with my son & daughter, and 2 grandkids, and taking care of my acre property.
I also enjoy following the art community in Phoenix as my daughter is an artist and has shown in several galleries and juried shows. I am still a big reader and always have a stack of books waiting for me.
